  Justrite Later Model No. 661.JPG - JUSTRITE NO. 661 - Justrite model #661 brass cap lamp, with “Protecto-Grip” rubber bottom cover, marked on top JUSTRITE (in script) TRADE MARK MADE IN U.S.A., round hook with removable cap spring, 2 1/2 in. removable reflector  (This vertical style lamp with a Polygon Feed replaced the Victor cap lamp in Justrite Catalog #7 ca. 1929; the 1929 replacement included a shortened Victor style Polygon Feed water lever arm and fixed strap cap braces; Justrite Catalog #9 ca. 1934 shows the Model No. 661 with an extended water control lever as shown here; in Justrite Catalog #10 ca. 1936, all Justrite cap lamps including the Model No. 661 came equipped with the new  rubber Protecto-Grip on the lamp bottoms; the Protecto-Grip was awarded trademark #308,459 on Dec. 5, 1933 and was designed to protect the bottom shoulder when removing spent carbide as well as improving the grip and providing some insulation to provide a cooler grip when the lamp was hot;  Justrite Catalog #10A ca. 1938 introduced the removable cap spring as shown on this lamp; it is thought this lamp is the final configuration of Model No. 661 prior to being discontinued by Justrite.
